I collect antiquarian books of Singapore & amongst my prized collectible is a official pamphlet presented to the British Parliament in 1819 by the Secretary to the East India Company on the importance of granting Lt Gov Stamford Raffles the power to establish a trading post in the East Indies to protect the India-China trade route from the growing Dutch influence.
